Fall 2009 Course Sites Created
by Courtney Bentley - Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 10:25 AM

Course sites for Fall term courses have been created in Moodle (http://moodle.lafayette.edu) based on current course information in Banner. Faculty who are teaching fall courses should now see them listed in the "My Courses" block on the left column after logging in to Moodle. If a course you are teaching does not appear in your course list, or if you need courses combined, please complete the Request for Moodle course assignments and merges so the appropriate changes can be made.

Students will be automatically enrolled in course sites two weeks prior to the start of the semester. Courses are unavailable to students by default, so you will have the option of using the site or letting it remain inactive. Remember that changing the Course ID will prevent auto enrollment from working, so please refrain from altering that setting.

New to Moodle?
by Courtney Bentley - Thursday, May 21, 2009, 11:34 AM

Log in to Moodle using your NetworkID and Password. If you are a first-year student, your initial password was in the letter sent to you from the Dean of the College Office.

Some students have have had difficulty with their passwords. If you have a character that looks like this: & it is an ampersand and on most keyboards is typed using shift-7. You can change your password at: https://password.lafayette.edu

Once you are logged in, you will see a block on the left of the screen labeled "My Courses." This contains sites you currently have access to: Math Survey and Placement Test, and Chemistry Survey and Placement Test (you will soon have a course called Class of 2013).

If you have not reviewed the information on the First Year Registration Site, there are pages for Course Advice & Placement test information for Chemistry and Math. All students should review the information there before entering the Moodle sites for these tests. Within both sites there is additional information about the tests, a survey you should complete prior to beginning, and links to the tests.

If you have difficulty logging in to Moodle or have other questions about the system, please call the student helpdesk at (610)330-5506.
