Making your course sites available
by Courtney Bentley - Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 09:03 AM

Faculty: Please remember to make your Moodle course sites available when you are ready for students to have access.

To make your courses available:
  1. Go to the Administration block in the course and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Availability and select "This course is Available to students" from the dropdown.
  3. Click "Save changes" at the bottom of the page so the change takes effect.
(If you're not using Moodle for a class please let your students know -- students easily panic when a class they're taking does not appear in their Moodle line up.)

Moodle Upgraded, New Page Editor Added
by Kenneth Newquist - Monday, August 24, 2009, 09:49 AM

We've upgraded to a newer version of Moodle, and added a new editor that makes it easier to add content to Moodle. In addition to a cleaner interface, the new TinyMCE-based editor solves a problem with extraneous code getting copied and pasted from Word documents and incorporates DragMath (denoted by the pi symbol) for quickly assembling TeX-based equations.

If you encounter any problems with Moodle after the upgrade, please contact the Help Desk at 610.330.5501, help@lafayette.edu or submit a help request online.

Fall 2009 Enrollments Added
by Courtney Bentley - Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 08:37 AM

Faculty: Students have been enrolled in Fall 2009 classes. We will be doing weekly drop/add updates from now until the start of term, and then daily drop/add updates from 8/31 until 9/16. Please note that First Class students (high school students taking college classes) will be added by 8/21.

Students: You do not have automatic access to Fall Moodle sites; you will only see courses in your "My Courses" block if a faculty member has changed the availability.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Courtney Bentley (bentleyc or 5504) or the Helpdesk (faculty: 5501, students: 5506).
